Sole Guidance: Sage Advice for Individuals on a Self-Directed Spiritual Journey is a podcast in development, alongside a YouTube channel and a set of online courses.
What it is for
One-to-one work reaches four to six people at a time. The framework underneath it — the five levels, self-assessment, standing practice, what forty-seven years of studying under seven master teachers across two traditions actually taught — generalizes, and there is no reason for it to stay inside a session.
The audience is people doing this on their own: no lineage, no teacher nearby, working it out from books and practice. That is roughly how Rodney started.
Planned topics
- Working with all five levels rather than treating them one at a time
- Standing practice, taught properly, for people with no access to a teacher
- Reading your own condition — noticing a disturbance before it becomes a symptom
- The Eastern disciplines: what they are, what they are not, and how to tell a real teacher from a confident one
- Conversations with practitioners from both traditions

Nothing has launched yet. If you want to know when it does, send a note through the contact form and say you would like to hear about Sole Guidance — that goes on a separate list from session inquiries and will not put you in the client queue.
In the meantime
The journal covers much of the same ground in writing. For one-to-one work, the Sessions page explains how it starts.
