Surgical support is the work Rodney is asked for most often by people who already have a medical team in place. It is complementary to that team, never a substitute for it.

Before a procedure

The weeks before a scheduled surgery are unusual. The date is fixed, the outcome is not, and most people are carrying more than they are saying out loud. Preparation work addresses the parts of that which the surgical team is not set up to handle:

The anticipatory stress load going into the procedure
Fear attached to a specific prior experience — an earlier surgery, a family history, an anesthesia reaction
Sleep in the final week
The mental framing people carry into the operating room, which is not nothing

Two to four sessions in the four weeks before a date is typical. Because the date is fixed and Rodney holds only four to six client slots at a time, it is worth inquiring as early as you can once the surgery is scheduled.

After a procedure

Post-operative work tends to be requested at a specific point: when the surgical recovery has gone technically well, the follow-ups are clear, and something is still not right. Energy has not come back. Pain has changed character rather than resolved. Sleep has not returned. The person does not feel like themselves in a way that is difficult to describe to a surgeon whose job is now finished.

That gap is real, it is common, and it is where this work is most useful. Rodney assesses across all five levels — physical, mental, emotional, psychic and spiritual — and works on whichever of them the recovery is actually stuck on. Often it is not the physical one.

What this is not

This work does not replace surgical care, post-operative protocols, physical therapy, or medication. Rodney does not advise anyone to delay a procedure, decline one, or change anything their physician has prescribed. If you are considering doing any of those things, that conversation belongs with your doctor.

What he does is work alongside that care on the parts of the experience it does not reach.

Scheduling around a surgery date

Sessions are available by video, which matters when you are not able to travel before or after a procedure. In-person sessions are available in Sun Valley, Idaho. Everything starts with a two-hour Discovery Session, which produces the plan for the weeks around your date.
